Soquel Schafer, PA-C

Soquel (pronounced “So-Kell”) Schafer, PA-C, is a board-certified physician assistant practicing at Colorado Springs Urology, PLLC, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Originally from Northern California, she earned her bachelor’s degree from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, before completing her Master of Medical Science in the Physician Assistant Program at Marshall B. Ketchum University in Fullerton, California.

While Soquel enjoys all aspects of urology, her clinical interests include female pelvic and urinary health, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), urinary stone disease, and hormone replacement therapy management. She understands that her patients’ time is valuable and strives to provide compassionate, efficient, and individualized care by listening carefully to each patient’s concerns and partnering with them to develop personalized treatment plans.

Before becoming a physician assistant, Soquel worked as a physical therapy aide, an in-home caregiver for older adults with memory loss, and a behavioral instructor for children with autism. These experiences helped shape her patient-centered approach and reinforced the importance of empathy, communication, and individualized care.

Outside of work, Soquel enjoys spending time with her family, backpacking, baking (and, more importantly, eating) homemade bread, exploring on overland adventures, and recently discovering a passion for mountain biking. Having lived in South America for several years, she is fluent in Spanish.
